Umami is about bringing the finest sashimi grade Bluefin tuna to the world in an environmentally friendly, yet profitable way. We do it by catching Bluefin tuna and then feeding it the very same fish it would eat in the wild.
The company holds two major operations, which combined, have a farming capacity of almost 10,000 metric tons and have some of the finest places on earth to farm Bluefin the year round.
In the financial year ended June 30th 2011 the company sold $57 million worth of Bluefin tuna, mostly to Japan. Click on the links to the left to find out how.
